I have always been facinated by found objects.  Ever since I was little, I have collected bits and pieces of manmade and natural things that have interesting shapes. 

Being somewhat of a pack rat, I never knew quite what to do with all my "treasures" other than put them in boxes or set them on shelves.  My art eventually gravitated toward trying to use some of them, and over the years evolved into the altered mixed media pieces. I find pieces from metal detecting, antiquing and shopping, parking lots, and picking up after hurricanes among other places.

I feel as if I am trying to complete some grand found object puzzle where I keep coming across more and more pieces, and I help them finally find their places.  And if I do some recycling in the meantime, that's even better!
